Illyricum

The Rapcrew Illyricum from the Area of Karlsruhe contains of the 3 MC´s Arthur, Liquid and Mars, as well as AlexFlex as DJ behind the turntables. In the he beginning Illyricum was founded end of 1998 as Liquid & Mars. They did small appearances and fought open mic sessions as well they had some own beats. Then they joined to do their shit together calling themselves Illyricum. In the beginning more like freestyling and beatboxing as some kind of sport then should evolve within the next years. The two MC's and beatproducers more often hung around with Arthur because of features. It was clear that sound and quality were far behind the desired listening experience. So they met in the Lab and within their own four walls at home to raise their own tracks. Firstly Liquid & Mars made themselves a name in the area of Karlsruhe through appearances at smaller locations and battles. After Arthur Sittner was fully integrated as a member of the team Liquid & Mars became Illyricum - A crew that was based on a four man structure but to the outside containing a wider more flexible range of artists. In the fourth quarter of the year 2000 the group negotiated that from now on Alexander Dragunow a.k.a. AlexFlex from Bruchsal is going to be the man behind the Wheels of Steel. The concept of the crew is to be mainly independent from help and influence from the outside world and to reach new goals based on their own values.
