SANTA CRUZ - Guarte

The video begins relaxed with long lines and continually becomes faster and more vicious. Be looking forward to the hard to make out tricks of Alex Moul and certainly to the whole team. Plus bonus material and mysterious guests!

THINK - iThink
THINK - iThink

A glimpse on the back of the cover shows that besides the known drivers like Jake Nunn and Danny Fuenzalida also Daryl Angel, Adam Dyet, Jake Palu, Jesse Bracewell and Jerry Smith got a part! Hmmm, OK... I don´t know any of them but why not try. After the stylish intro in the manner of the iPod advertising campaign / last boardseries Daryl Angel first of all rides down a gap and a handrail. To give the 2nd part to Jake Nunn I first thought was a little unhappy. But afterwards that suits. Seldom I have seen such a big rider that in spite of his size rides THAT stylish. Nice lines with fastidious tricks distinguish his part. The following part features the three gentlemen whose christian names start with "J" in a sort of Mix-Section so boredom doesn´t come up. The attentive magazine reader saw the name Adam Dyet certainly in any US magazine and knows thereafter that "tech" meets "gnar" when he gets to do his part. Appropriate slams inclusive. The final part fully earned by Danny Fuenzalida who does one of the best sw 360 Flips that I have ever seen. Additionally he simply is a cool pleasant guy that´s way to underrated. The menu of the DVD is like the cover already kept in the iPod Design and shows again how much influence these small devices have to the skating community. You simply need it just like the DVD.

INPUT Video Magazin #17 - Prisma

Not a long time ago Jens Schütz replaced Ingo Bremmes as Mastermind of the Input and this is "his" first issue. The tragic within this is that Jens noch even before finally completing the flick lost his life in a car accident. Therefore the DVD is dedicated to him, of course and contains damn a lot of his footage. The first part of the video is the Popwar Tour followed by a Mix-Part that shows that Jens had the nickname "Travelling Man" for a reason. Here there are a lot of new faced to be viewed. Additionally the World Cup Contests in Dortmund and Prag are closer enlightened were particularly the Prag part is well done; I only say:"Jereme Rogers!" After such a lot of hall there has to be a street-part and who could better do so than Patrick Bös. Excellent street-footy from Cologne, Munic and Barcelona distinguish his part that definitely causes desire for technical streetskating. The final of the fourty minute long video belongs to the Black Label Team that proves with a good 10 minute long part how you can be skating for one and a half weeks. Although I was present all the time I was after all really positively surprised where we collected footy altogether. Alone because of this part that proves that americans don´t only chill when they are on Tour in Germany.

TRANSWORLD - Subtleties

Here is a video of Jan Holland und Jason Hernandez. In the intro it is clear that Transworld keeps it´s quality and delivers good impressions which are simply entertaining. At start are: Duffy, Biebel, Leeper, Janoski and Wenning with friend part, additionally two mix parts that have a lot to give. Pat Duffy the old golfer has the first part. While doing a few skatepark-tricks in south africa he unfortunately breaks his arm in spite of his injury he keeps skating. Duffy is definitely back! He ripps a Loadingdock inclusively a big Rail afterwards and for the finish there is a real big gap-ollie with sidewalk landing and puddle behind. The first mix part provides the most different things: Tech-stuff, curb or big stunts... everything can be seen. Known faces are also taking part like Ryan Johnson and Bennie Fairfax. Brandon Biebel shows bad curb-tech-varieties that one is nearly used to of him. He makes nearly every flip-trick, switch or normal really not mattering. Brian Wenning has a nice guest appearance with new footage. He brings ruff switch dirties in easy Wenning-style like he is known and loved for. In connection comes the second mixpart with drivers like Ryan Gallant, Steve Nesser and Corey Duffel. Two of the highlights are crailblunt at the handrail and the pop Shove-It from Nesser at the Wallenberg four. The following part goes to Kyle Leeper and this man really skates everything that comes in his way. If a curb is too high so he does an easy kick up front. I was persuaded by the astonishing curb tricks. Stefan Janoski has the last Part. With him you never know what is switch or normal! Janoski has Style and that plenty. As bonus there is the Miami Tour and a funny special with Janoskis dog "Liam": the little one is always in when skating. A very nice flick from Transworld that combines brilliant skating with nice pictures!

THRASHER - King Of The Road

The Zero team, Almost, Anti-Hero and friends get on their way to fulfill various most different challenges and tricks that the Thrasher editorship invented. At the end there is the title the price money and the cover.

THRASHER - Rocket Science
THRASHER - Rocket Science

"Rocket Science" is a flick from the Thrasher Magazine. It starts with loads of pure street skating. Where about 50% of the riders are practically unknown except Jesse Paez, Quim Cardona, Ron Whaley and Alex Carolino! But that´s exactly what impresses me in skate videos with new faces that shock through their skating. Jeremy Reeves is also one of them who no one ever seen or heard before and who apparently has a pile of tricks available as if he would stand on his board for ten years, already! Further the movie takes us to Arizona where I as far as I know never even was with the finger on the map. Also unknown are their names. One of them Jarrod Saba looks like a tramp fellah nevertheless with an unbelievable loose style and board control. All of his colleagues show that there are unbelievably many riders who would earn to be part in the skate biz. "The Struggle continues" with the Consolidated Crew Seth McCallum, Ryan Wilburn, Jesse Paez, Gary Collins, Jerimiah Babb and Roberto Aleman. With Free-Haircuts they recruit their fans and find skate halls within the whole country. Of course they take every street spot with them that gets in their way. In Sacramento Aaron Harrison is at home and shreds every spot Tranny or Curb. Also taking a part are Mako Urabe, John Cardiel and Stefan Janoski. But those are not the only ones who grew up in Sacto. Omar Salazar is on the run with a lot of speed and style. Lucas Underwood is such a little rail killer and considering Ryan Parsons I can´t imagine anything at all, anymore. To Silas Baxter Neal I only wanna say one thing: Kickflip to Neal Deal, nice! And that´s it, over, the end! Hold on... One thing more: In summer the Thrasher Magazine invited to the big showdown on the Wallenberg Four. Like you all certainly have seen before Reynolds, Robertson and Stanton were the big winners but what was happening besides is worth seeing! No Brain? No Problem.

STATIC - Invisibles

Here comes an independent movie with Bobby Puelo, John Igei, Kenny Reed, Paul Shier, Wayne Patrick and Ricky Oyola making up the main characters. The intro shows in which direction the video presumes: longer rider intros with small story and good 16mm shots. To be honest from the beginning: There are too many mix parts showing extremely a lot of drivers with actually only a few tricks. Additionally friends in the every part of drivers come up which means there are really a lot of skaters can be seen! In the official friends part some known pros are starred who provide really cool tricks. After diverse city parts Bobby Puleo follows his appointment and shows how funny streetskating can be with a lot of hard curb-to-bank-things and tricks like a nosegrind at the mini-S-rail for example. Kenny Reed does the great finish. The popular-warrior was travelling the whole world. For example at the "crazy hips" in Egypt. That´s a funny guy. He skates simply everything and provides different tricks to taste. His part is a real motivation for pure street skating. As a bonus there is the Area 51 and a whole amount of skatefooty included. Conclusion: In spite of the huge amount of drivers it is a very diverse and nice video with suiting music that shows what feeling skateboarding brings.

DARKSTAR - Batallion Extended DVD

Every company within the skatebiz wants to show the people with its newest video about what they can rip. Darkstar starts with their first video. Mike Hasties Part is the first one to come. Various high rail tricks. The man is born for rails. Sven Kilchenmann has unbelievable technical tricks in stock switch as well as regular. Windsor James small man all big makes an unbelievably high wave for his age. Chris Doubstaff draws attention to himself with a short part. Props go out to Guy Kämpfen at first. Guy has a damned high technical potential as well and knows how to use it. Chet Thomas in his part of course has every kind of hardflip variation to show.. Gailea Momulu astonishes! Every trick incredible stylish and easy. It was absolutely clear that Paul Machnau gets to take the last part. In the conclusion this video is not one of the highlights of the year. Certainly it has to be seen though. The Extended DVD now comes with additional footage of the particular drivers 40 minutes of interview material and a "Behind the Scene" category.

ELEMENT - Elementality

It took a lot of years until there was something new from the Element Crew to view. Now finally the full video from Bam and Co. Besides the well-known pros like Bam Margera, Colt Cannon, Mike Vallely and Tosh Towned new riders like Vanessa Torres and Nyjah Huston who simply shine by their personality join the action. Certainly a highlight is the last part. The 10-year-old Nyjah Huston shows quite clearly into which direction skating is going to develop. At the end a 20-paged booklet and the stylish open able cover round this video up. MUST HAVE !

CKY 4

Even if the Jackass Movie now already flicked on some screens and some of the bullshit of Bam and his colleagues were shown in his MTV show the boys still had enough senseless footage to release another part of the CKY series. Like in the predecessors the viewer is not being saved from anything. Also a brutal slam of Ryan Dunn is presented where he drops himself inside a ton from above the roof. He better should have pulled his head in...! Now and then the movie is interrupted with music pieces of a "new band" of the boys which are simply amusing. Of course also in this part the skateboarding is not to be depressed and we can see that Bam besides driving Ferrari also is able to skate quite well. Since this is the very last part according to the cover you should better act fast to get this one into your shelf if you like the bunch and their actions. But always think that there are other movies that can be watched with ones parents.

PJ LADD - Boston Massacre

We all were waiting too long for the 2nd part! Part1: “PJ Ladd´s Wonderful, Horrible Life” already was the bash that everybody should have in his shelf. But lets come to the newest film: Boston Massacre is the title and features as the hero the “King of Freestyle” Colin Fiske. But don´t worry also PJ has a Part but isn´t main actor in this movie. In a nutshell this flick is built like the old one. The guys skate in Boston without pads nor censorship! What can be shredded is shredded. No matter if it´s a one meter wide staircase or two steps. The guys have their fun with everything. But to be honest this video isn´t as good as the first one considering skating. A lot of it is only joking around but the fun that the boys have damn good is recognizable! And that´s why I like the video so much. Everyone is waiting for the megamoves unbelievable skating (that PJ and some others also show) but that´s not everything. All of us have gotten on the board to have fun and hang out with friends and exactly that is being shown here, again! So go out & skate & have fun!

ZERO - Dying to live DVD
ZERO - Dying to live DVD

Even if the Zero video is a little elder. The Newly released DVD is a nice thang! On the one hand you can view the still very good video in perfect quality. On the other hand you now finally have the possibility to get to the Ryan Smith part without lousy reeling. What always makes a DVD attractive is the Bonus Section that also didn´t become too short on the Zero DVD. In this way the viewer gets the "Dying to live" video as well as an Jon Allie "Sponsor-me- video" Part, a skatepark section, a slow-mo section, alternative angles and an additional "Bonus Montage Section" for his eyes that lasts certainly 20 minutes and you get a lot of new bangers to see. From different Road trips about Tricks that Jamie did in the Limited Magazine interview all the way to the stuff that for different reasons didn´t find its way onto to actual video. Here everything is included. For me personally the Jon Allies "Sponsor me" Tape was most interesting. Actually every kid that questions others or themselves about if they are good enough for a sponsorship should watch this. Fs Nosegrinds on a ten rail or Kickflip fs Boardsilde on a similar long one show apparently how good somebody is that rides for Zero.

DC SHOES - The DC Video
DC SHOES - The DC Video

After three years of filming the DC Team got their first video out! The waiting was worth it! As a reward one of the most guiding videos of this kind is available. Each part for itself a killa. But Danny Way even proceeds one step ahead. Considering halfpipe skills nobody can compare to him. But also the street rippers like A.v.E., Josh Kalis, Rob Dyrdek (with own security) and Stevie Williams set new measures in meanings of style combined with a proper portion of speed. Killer video: compulsory subject!!!

GOLD WHEELS - Got Gold !?
GOLD WHEELS - Got Gold !?

Who once again wants to see new footage of the not anymore skate able Pier7 is perfectly served with this film. Baby Stag, Marcus McBride, John Igei, Javier Nunes, Lennie Rivas, Spencer Fujimoto, Kelly Hart, Jack Curtin, Ryan Gallant and of course mastermind Stevie Williams shoot one technical trick after another. Each block at the Pier is being crossed with nearly every trick and that with high speed. Spencer Fujimoto kamikazes down one gap after the other each time close to a tigh break. Ryan Gallant surprises me again, every time. He again and again has steel hard skills at start and skates every terrain hard. The Grow-Ripper that Stevie signed all look very promising like Lenny Rivas e.g. ! The whole flick is of course accompanied by hardest gangsta rap unfortunately this is louder than all skate sounds what drags down the whole thing a little bit. Of course several of Stevies Homies have their guest appearance in the video and give various statements to Gold Wheels. Very funny the whole thing. So Watch Out & Get Gold.
